Sellers Dorsey is pleased to announce that Dr. Amanda Ascher is working with the firm as a Senior Clinical Advisor. Dr. Ascher is a recognized health care specialist and brings more than 20 years of experience in medicine and the hospital industry to the firm. Her deep knowledge and expertise in the health care industry provides significant value to Sellers Dorsey clients and team members on various value-based care initiatives.

Dr. Ascher served as the Chief Medical Officer of Bronx Partners for Healthy Communities, a coalition led by SBH Health System to respond to DSRIP: New York State’s waiver to transform care delivery to Medicaid recipients and the uninsured to decrease unnecessary hospital use. Dr. Ascher played a vital role in designing physician incentives and preparing partners for value-based purchasing readiness while focusing on improving health outcomes.
In a previous role as a Medical Director at New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, Dr. Ascher oversaw the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center and served as a Clinical Administrator for a 60,000+ visits per year, including Internal Medicine, Pediatric and OB/GYN departments, and subspecialties. She also oversaw clinical operations and clinical initiatives and participated in financial decision-making and budget planning.
Dr. Ascher holds faculty positions at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine, Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program, and at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Dr. Ascher holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Columbia College and received her M.D. from New York University School of Medicine.
