Sellers Dorsey is pleased to announce that Gary Jessee, Senior Vice President, will join national experts at CSG Medicaid Policy Academy on Thursday, October 9 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. to discuss lessons for states implementing Medicaid work requirements.
The session, “Enacting Medicaid Work Requirements: Lessons for States,” will explore how states can effectively design, implement, and manage community engagement requirements under Medicaid. Gary brings unparalleled insight from his leadership roles overseeing Medicaid/CHIP services for over four million Texans and managing a $50 billion health and human services budget.
The panel will feature additional experts: Leonardo Cuello, Research Professor at Georgetown University, and Michael Karpman, Principal Research Associate at the Urban Institute. Together, they will share strategies for operationalizing work requirements while supporting program sustainability and improved outcomes for beneficiaries.
As states and health plans prepare to meet these new requirements, Sellers Dorsey experts have also developed the Medicaid Work Requirements and Community Engagement Playbook. This resource provides actionable guidance on policy design, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation, drawing on lessons from past initiatives and emerging best practices.
