What You’ll Learn
In close collaboration with state Medicaid agencies, leading hospitals across the country have tapped into Medicaid’s unique flexibility as a federal-state partnership to meet the most pressing needs facing beneficiaries. As incubators for innovation, hospitals are designing and implementing Medicaid directed payment programs to overcome key pain points, including health care workforce challenges, and to drive and sustain transformative improvements in access and quality.

Such programs continue to support vital investments in training and care delivery infrastructure and enhanced reporting and analytics to help track and scale measurable improvements. This panel will provide an overview of the national landscape, notable impacts, and growing opportunities to scale these programs to drive critical improvements in care. The session will feature program accomplishments and learnings from current hospitals and state programs including CICIP in Ohio and the Maryland Quality Innovation Program (M-QIP), a Medicaid Managed Care Value-Based Physician Supplemental Payment Program.
