Candice Whitfield

Candice brings a wealth of experience in healthcare administration and policy, with a strong track record of leading transformative initiatives. Before joining Sellers Dorsey, she served as Administrator in the Chief Medical Officer’s Office at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she managed quality and safety programs, hospital accreditation, infection prevention, medical staff services, and operational excellence initiatives. Notably, she partnered with the Division of Medicaid to design and implement the Mississippi Medicaid Access to Physician Services Program, securing over $100 million in funding, and founded the Office of Operational Excellence to improve hospital operations and financial performance. Prior to that, Candice was Health Policy Advisor in the Office of Governor Haley Barbour, where she led the state’s health policy agenda, collaborated on Medicaid reforms, and helped implement a DSH supplemental payment program that brought an additional $500 million to Mississippi.


Current Responsibility

As an Associate Director at Sellers Dorsey, Candice supports the Georgia practice by leveraging her extensive background in healthcare policy, hospital administration, and value-based care to deliver strategic guidance and operational insights to help clients navigate the evolving landscape of Medicaid and CMS-driven initiatives, particularly as the focus on quality and impact in DPP programs continues to grow.
