That mission began 25 years ago with a partnership rooted in purpose. In 2000, Martin (Marty) Sellers founded the Firm, bringing decades of healthcare innovation and government affairs expertise. From day one, his vision was clear: to improve healthcare for those who need it most. But vision alone doesn’t create a movement. It takes a partner to bring it to life.

Alongside Marty was Brian Dorsey, now the Firm’s Chief Culture Officer. Brian’s connection to the mission was personal—his family knew firsthand that health insurance was not a given and not to be taken for granted. With deep experience in public relations and healthcare communications, Brian helped shape not just how the Firm showed up in the world, but who we would become.

Together, Marty and Brian forged a partnership that became the backbone of Sellers Dorsey. Their shared commitment to service and access created a firm where mission and culture go hand in hand. “It takes a team to truly make an impact,” says Marty. “And to build a team, you need culture,” Brian adds. Their collaboration helped build both.

From this foundation, Sellers Dorsey grew into a mission-driven firm with a mission-driven team. Since 2000, Sellers Dorsey has been our clients’ trusted partners, consulting on a wide range of financing, policy, and operational initiatives in nearly every state, driving local impact through tailored, integrated solutions.
