Elizabeth brings a strong background in Medicaid and health care policy to the team, using her technical, operational, management, and policy experience to serve Sellers Dorsey’s clients, and her expertise covers a broad range of skills, including Medicaid waiver and managed care program development. She primarily supports the Austin practice.
Elizabeth LaMair is a licensed attorney and health policy expert. Her career has focused on federal and state health program design and analysis, Medicaid and CHIP managed care waiver and program development, and implementation and evaluation of programs for special populations. Before she joined Sellers Dorsey, Elizabeth served as Director of Healthcare Policy at the Texas Council of Community Centers. There she provided strategic direction on national, state, and local trends in healthcare delivery, as well as leadership to community-based behavioral healthcare providers. Prior to this role, Elizabeth was the Director of Contract Compliance and Support, Medicaid/CHIP Division, with Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), overseeing the contract, compliance, and support (CCS) unit and providing expertise on legislative, regulatory, and contract matters. Her other former roles with Texas HHSC include program specialist and assistant general counsel. As a program specialist, Elizabeth developed Medicaid and CHIP managed care contract requirements and provided guidance on 1115 waiver amendments for the Texas Healthcare Transformation and Quality Improvement Program. As assistant general counsel, she served as lead counsel on eight major managed care initiatives.
