As a Senior Consultant with Sellers Dorsey, Ashley Kirk handles client engagements and operational delivery for the California-based team, including initiatives Medicaid financing, Medicaid managed care, business development, and provider policy and reimbursement. As an experienced healthcare professional, she provides the team with a unique perspective having worked in various healthcare associations for both Medicaid and Commercial lines of care. Ashley also brings a wealth of knowledge working on state and federal policy with specific focus on policy analysis and health care reform. Additionally, Ashley serves as a Co-Director of the firm’s Next Generation group, a committee of emerging leaders, experts and staff from across the organization.
Ashley joins the firm from the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) where she was a Program Associate providing project management on a variety of initiatives related to misuse and overuse of tests and treatments within the state of California. Her most notable work in this area includes project managing a multi-stakeholder workgroup led by executive-level leaders from Covered California, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), and the California Public Employees Retirement Systems (CalPERS) where she helped support their efforts in tackling overuse for three specific areas: low back pain, C-Section, and opioids. Ashley was also a member of a team that administers a statewide Value-Based Pay-for-Performance (VB P4P) program for physician organizations and health plans in California. Prior to joining the Integrated Health Association, she worked for the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (CAPH) supporting member hospitals and health systems navigate state and federal health care reform initiatives.
