Sellers Dorsey’s Commitment to Racial Justice and Equity

Since the murder of George Floyd, our nation has been engaged in discussions of ongoing systemic racism and injustice. While the killing of George Floyd is one of the most recent, high-profile instances of injustice, we recognize racism is systemic and pervasive. It causes tremendous pain to the Black community, including our Black colleagues at Sellers Dorsey.

We want to clearly state that Black Lives Matter.

Racism is also a public health crisis. Black Americans disproportionately live in poverty, with 20% reported below the poverty line. We understand the barriers to health care and inequities caused by racism, as well as the disproportionate impact that the inequities have on Medicaid enrollees and believe that access to healthcare is a non-partisan issue. These barriers lead to poorer health outcomes for marginalized communities, especially in communities of color. As a health care consulting firm, we recognize our unique position in building a more equitable healthcare system by supporting providers and programs that directly serve marginalized communities. We all must do what we can to oppose racism, seek to end injustice, and work towards building a firm and a world that is equitable for all. We are committed to working with you, our clients and strategic partners, to address health disparities facing people served by the Medicaid program.
