Sellers Dorsey Welcomes Janice Fagen, Former Medicaid Health Plan Executive, to its Growing Team of Managed Care Experts

Sellers Dorsey announced today that Janice Fagen, former Vice President of Medicaid Operations for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX), has joined the firm, adding to the organization’s expertise in a wide array of managed care topics. Ms. Fagen brings more than 25 years of managed care leadership experience, including profit and loss management, operations oversight, and stakeholder communications. Her deep knowledge of managed care will help Sellers Dorsey provide vital assistance to plans and states in support of their mutual goals of ensuring quality, value, and timely care for enrollees in Medicaid and Medicare nationwide.

In her former role at BCBSTX, Ms. Fagen was recognized for building a high-performing, low-turnover team known for its dedication to results, cohesion, and effectiveness. With a reputation for team leadership and problem solving, she successfully collaborated with partners both inside and outside the organization, making measurable improvements in customer service, health care management, provider contracting, provider relations, quality management, and other key areas.

Before joining BCBSTX, Ms. Fagen ran a Dallas-based Medicaid managed care plan, where she was responsible for the profit and loss of the plan and ensured compliance with the contract. She has years of experience building provider networks and running Medicare Advantage sales, as well as statewide network development leadership for building provider networks for individuals and employer-based groups. Prior to her work in managed care, Ms. Fagen served as a psychiatric hospital administrator and a psychotherapist.
