Dr. Andy Baskin Joins Sellers Dorsey as Senior Clinical Advisor

Sellers Dorsey has announced that Dr. Andy Baskin has joined the firm as a Senior Clinical Advisor. Before joining the firm, Dr. Baskin worked at Aetna/CVS Health for more than 20 years, most recently as National Medical Director, Clinical Policy and Quality. As Sellers Dorsey expands its capabilities to help states and providers achieve quality and value-based care goals, Dr. Baskin will provide crucial expertise in performance-based clinical operations.

During his tenure at Aetna/CVS Health, Dr. Baskin was responsible for national clinical policy creation and implementation, as well as establishing performance-based networks and quality measurement-based initiatives. In addition to expertise in clinical policy, quality measurement, and strategy, he has a wealth of knowledge in health care reform regulations, disease management, and benefit and plan design.

At Sellers Dorsey, Dr. Baskin works on client engagements focusing on connecting payment programs to states’ value-based care objectives. He is an asset to the firm and supports the mission of improving access through our work with clients on Medicaid financing and alternative payment solutions.

Dr. Baskin was recently a member of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Standards Committee (8 years) and the NCQA Committee on Performance Measurement (11 years). Before working at Aetna/CVS Health, Dr. Baskin worked in emergency and internal medicine for over 15 years. He is also a former member of America’s Health Insurance Plans and National Quality Forum Consensus Standards Approval Committee. Dr. Baskin received his M.D. from Temple University in Philadelphia.
