The “My Tableau Story” series, hosted by Lelia Williams, Tableau Community Program Manager, showcases the evolving and inspiring experiences of Tableau Community leaders. In Episode 4, she interviews Lindsay, a well-known and admired Community leader. Watch and be inspired by her Tableau data viz journey and leave with tangible actions to help you learn Tableau, grow your data skills, and connect with helpful people.

Lindsay has been working in the healthcare for almost 20 years, and first discovered Tableau in 2014 after becoming frustrated with inefficient and static reports at a prior organization. Tableau opened her eyes to the power of visualizing data and how questions could be answered by interacting directly with it. However, it wasn’t until late 2017 that Lindsay became an active member in the larger Tableau Community, taking her data skills and career to the next level.

Since then, she’s become a four-time Tableau Visionary, five-time Tableau Public Ambassador, and works as a Partner and Senior Consultant at HealthDataViz helping health and healthcare organizations around the United State see and understand their data. Due to her unbounded passion for healthcare and helping others, specifically mothers in data viz, she also started the community initiatives #ProjectHealthViz and #MomsWhoViz.

Throughout this episode you’ll learn:

  • How Lindsay’s career quickly grew after becoming a Tableau champion
  • How participating in community projects grows your analytics skills
  • How to find belonging and step into a leadership role
