SPOTLIGHT

This month, the Sellers Dorsey foundation contributed an op-ed to the Huffington Post blog on LGBT health opportunities. With all the excitement surrounding the Supreme Court and marriage equality, LGBT health equality often remains unaddressed. The Affordable Care Act will expand health care options for all, including the LGBT community, but too many people are unaware of the benefits. The goal of the Foundation is to improve LGBT health outcomes, but with a lack of information the LGBT community may not know where to look for answers. The Sellers Dorsey Foundation is here to help. Sellers Dorsey Foundation

Improving LGBT Health.

The Sellers Dorsey Foundation is a private foundation based in Philadelphia dedicated to improving the health of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. The Sellers Dorsey Foundation supports and leads efforts to improve health outcomes among the LGBT community through public education, collaboration, and grant giving.

The Sellers Dorsey Foundation believes that health care is a basic human right.  LGBT individuals face inequality, stigma, discrimination, and bias when exercising this right and interfacing with the healthcare system.  These factors have led to significant health disparities.

The Sellers Dorsey Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and does not accept unsolicited requests for grants.
