The presentation revolved around state efforts to maximize federal Medicaid revenues related to Medicaid managed care. The discussion focused on managed care provider assessments, detailing how they have been used in the past and how states are responding to the changes in federal law regarding these assessments that take effect on October 1, 2009. Given the extraordinary challenges on state budgets, the webinar also examined non-provider assessment revenue maximization initiatives states may be considering for the future that could also impact Medicaid managed care organizations.
