Last month, Families USA, an advocate group that focuses on  high-quality, affordable healthcare, released the report, "Hidden Health Tax: Americans Pay a Premium"

The report focuses on the elevation of private health care premium costs due to costs of care for the uninsured that are not reimbursed.    In the press release, Executive Director of Families USA, was quoted, "As more people join the ranks of the uninsured, the hidden health tax is growing. That tax hits America's businesses and insured families hard in the pocketbook, and they therefore have a clear financial stake in expanding health coverage as part of health reform."

Families USA tasked Sellers Dorsey collaborative partner, Milliman Inc., with analyzing these premiums. Sellers Dorsey Senior Consultant, Mart Heit, worked with Milliman in this analysis and provided technical support on the relationship between Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital funding and uncompensated care costs.
